what type of education did he/she recieve to become a teacher?

  2. I actually have my master's in Education.

    Now it's in regular education not special edu, but in some ways they can be the say. For me I took 3 science classes, I minored in English, and of course sociology, anthropology and pyschology. My areas of concentration were Math and Social Studies. Now if you are doing Special Education you have three general areas-do you want to work with kids who are mild, intermediate or severally handicap, and you pick one and you have a good chuck of your classes in that area.

    Back to the general education I had to take school law, child pyschology I had several classes where I had to observe in the schools and help out. Not Student Teaching but before that, to get an idea of if this is what I want, teach a few classes, etc.

    Each state is different, but you get the general idea.

    Before a teacher can be license they have to take the Praxis II, and trust me those tests are EVIL. And you can't teach unless you have taken that. 48 of the states use that, I know Arkansas doesn't but they use something else instead.
