I lost my passport and hence my non-immigrant L1 visa. I am going to India and restamped. Now, since i am getting a new L1 to replace a "lost" one (lost and not expired visa) should i still goto a consulate that has jurisdiction over my local area there? OR can i go to any consulate in India. Please share your experiences. Thanks

  1. did you report the loss? i hope so..if not? do so.

go back to the same consulate you first went to,

it will count down time and paper work, and easier to get your L1 visa that if you go to another consulate.

  2. Go to the Embassy or Consulate that gave you your first L-1 visa.  They will have your records there and can easily replace the lost visa.  Expect a delay if you go anywhere else.
