Interview question.... I have a job interview for a different position within the same company?

The trouble is they most likely will contact my current manager... and she is crazy. Which is why I need to leave the department... I have several other references within the company that I trust, but I am very worried about what she might say... Is there a way that I can soften the blow?? Can I mention that I don't get along with her without looking as though I am not a team player?? I know I can't say she is crazy... and if it were an external interview I wouldn't even put her as a reference... but internally they always contact the direct line manager. Any advice??

  1. Be up front during the interview.  Stress that you love the company, but have been struggling to fit in with your current position and manager.  Stress that before you had that position, you excelled and wish to do so again.
