Interview question.......?

I was at a job interview today (I got the job)

But, she asked me Why should I hire you?

Then after I answered, she asked "why shouldn't I hire you?"

Has anyone ever been asked this? I didn't know what to say so I said, I don't think that you shouldn't hire me?

Was this a fine reply? Not that it matters I guess, since I already got the job...

  1. interesting, in response to a question like that you make it into a positive

  2. You would be surprised at the number of idiots that will tell on themselves. Some will say cause i'm late all the time or because I steal or some such stuff.

  3. They always ask. It's a phycology question for seeing what you see in yourself and an honest question to find out how you'd benefit the company.

  4. NO AND YES

  5. They just wanted to understand how you think, and it is an opportunity to  get you to dish out dirt on yourself. Most people don't buy into it, but every once in awhile you hear an answer something like "Well, I tend to come into work late a lot... but I am working on it"

  6. That was an excellent reply!  Congrats on your new job!

  7. she is asking for qualities about your self you ARN'T proud of.

..but you still have to say good things like "i'm a work-a-holic" or "people say i'm an over achiever and like things done perfectly"...its ok to lie just a little bit on something like this
