Question:

Intex Pool Chemicals??

I have a 15'36" Intex pool. We bought a starter kit for the above ground pool. Here are my questions:

- What do my chemicals have to be between on the tester stripes??

-How much of the chemicals should go in at once?

-How long do I have to wait until swimming after putting the chemicals in?

-Should I put each chemical in at once or at different times?

Note: I have the chemicals Shock and Swim, Equalizer, and the Chlorine Granules.

As you can see, I'm pretty clueless about all of this stuff for any information that you have on the 15' x 36" pool is necessary and wanted. Thank you for answering this question(if you do)!! Also, a guarenteed 10 points to whoever answers my questions the best that they can!

Thanks,

  1. Yes i understand, I becme a pool owner only because it came with the house. And it took a while for me to really figure the water maintenance out.

To begin with, the test strips will state what is a good level, so I'm not sure why you ask this.

    However:

free chlorine: >1 to 3 ppm

    pH: 7.0 to 7.4

You need to calulate (or look up) the gallon capasity of your pool. All chemicals will state how much to use. It's often stated as per 10,000 gals. I have a 15,500 gal pool and I just use 50% more.

Your pool holds 4,000 gals so use 40% of the 10,000 qty.

And yep you are cluless for sure. You must read the packaging directions. Thumbs down for pointing out the info is right on the test kit???
