Intimate Surfing to showcase the ASP Women's World Title contenders and their lifestyle on Eurosport 2
Eurosport 2 is all set to launch Intimate Surfing, a brand-new series that will focus on going beyond the surfing clichés to offer a more in-depth and unique view of women’s professional surfing.
The exclusive series will follow the female surfing professionals around the globe, be it Brazil or Australia, as they travel the world during their campaign for the most prestigious honours in the sport, the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World
Title.
Intimate Surfing will be dedicating its efforts to provide an in-sight on what goes on the life of the exciting female action sports athletes inside and outside of water.
While female surfing has finally begun to step out of the shadows and gain recognition, the athletes have not been getting enough attention. Where the likes of Kelly Slater, the 11-time ASP World Champion, is a well-known name around the globe, former four-time
ASP Women’s World Champion Stephanie Gilmore and her colleagues are still way behind as far as international recognition and fame is concerned.
The female surfing has been taking leaps in the recent years, with the energetic and determined surfers pushing the boundaries and putting on some of the most exquisite performances.
A few years back, the attention of media was directed towards men’s surfing events and their ASP World Championship Tour. However, the female surfers had managed to earn respect and recognition through their efforts.
With the launch of the new and exclusive TV magazine series on Eurosport 2, a wide range of audience will have an opportunity to become familiar with the stars that are making waves in the rapidly growing sport.
The show will follow them during their stay on tour, following them around the world and bringing their daily lives under spotlight.
Intimate Surfing will comprise of four episodes of 26 minutes each, with the first episode to feature a behind-the-stage look at the female surfers during the first stop on the women’s elite tour at Gold Coast in Australia. The show will air on the 24th
of June and will wrap up soon after the 2012 ASP Women’s World Championship Tour concludes.
