  1. Minimum of 5 pieces and max I don't really know.

    Use two lines to bisect the rectangle along the x and y axis (the intersection will be the center of the rectangle and I'll call it the origin). 4 sections

    Use one line at a 45 degree angle to bisect the x axis between the left edge of the rectangle and the origin and the y axis between the top edge of the rectangle and the origin. 7 sections

    Use the last line bisect the x axis from the previous bisection point and the origin and the y axis between the previous bisection point and the top edge of the rectangle (approximately a 60 degree angle).  This produces 11 sections.

  5. depends on which way you use the lines if you use three on the X axis and one on the Y axis will have 8 pieces.if you use all 4 on the Y axis will have 5 pieces.so it depends on how you want too use the four lines...
