My baby is intolerant to rice cereal, oat cereal....and now egg..whatz funny is that he has been eating all these stuff well for some weeks then when I stop them for a while (2-3 days) and then restart he starts throwing up violently..( I can say for sure it is intolerance because it is with the same food he throws up second time)....I am worried about this...ANyone experience same problem with your baby?

Yesterday my poor baby was throwing up egg like anything ( second time he throwing up with egg) almost for one hour...I got so scared...I called ped..and what that dumbhead nurse said was" stop giving him egg then" as if I don't know...I would appreciate some answer to this all of a sudden throw-up...I could get some insight to this problem if anyone else also in this category and what you do about it....Thanks..good day!

  1. some kids are allergic to egg.some have digestion problem.my son was doing the same and now is five yrs but still unable to digest egg.eats cakes, cutlets etc with egg in them but not egg as a whole.so be careful if he throw up egg

  2. First of all, you should bring him to a doctor and have him checked out. It seems like your baby has developed an allergy to gluten, but I don't know about the egg thing.

  3. Maybe he's sick?

  4. whatttttt

  5. Too many variables  here.  If you're mixing the cereal with cow's milk rather than formula or breast milk, that might be a problem.   If you're mixing with water, try using bottled water.  Keep trying with process of elimination.  He might also have a small virus.

  6. At a little over 6 months my baby started on rice cereal and seemed fine with it.  After about a week and a half I stopped giving it to him and started trying fruits and veggies, during this time he had no cereal or grains.  At 7.5 months we tried the baby oatmeal, the first time he ate it he seemed fine, the 2nd time he ate it he began vomiting violently about 2 hours later.  His body was limp and he seemed so sleepy that he couldn't keep his eyes open.  So I figured it was just the oats, I waited a few days and gave him the rice cereal again, and the EXACT same thing happened...2 hours later vomiting, limp, couldn't keep his eyes open.  I ended up taking him to the ER because it lasted for a few hours...of course once we were checked in at the ER he perked right back up.  Someone on Y/A told me their baby had similar symptoms and had been diagnosed with food protein induced enterocolitis...when I read about it, it described all of my son's symptoms.  Our ped. told us to hold off on all high allergen foods (milk, soy, egg, wheat) until he is 12 months.  If he does alright with those foods then (particularly the wheat) to try the rice and oats again.  he is 10 months now ans I am dreading the day when I have to give him any of those foods, for fear of making him sick.

EDIT:  Ignore the gluten remarks...rice and oats are gluten free.
