  1. I forget the name of the author, but you can search amazon for a book called "helping your introverted child strive in an extroverted world" or something to that effect.  I have not read it yet, but it was recommended to me.  There are also books from the "American Girl" collection that you can buy in your local bookstore called "The Care and Keeping of You" that talks about body changes/shaving/puberty and is very very good.  I bought this for my daughter.

  2. Provide some opportunities for her to go out and be among her peers.  Offer to take her to the pool, to go shopping or hang out somewhere.  Offer to take a couple of her friends along.

The best thing to do would be to not pressure her.  Some teens are more introverted than others.  It doesn't mean they lack social skills, some would prefer not to be that involved.

See if she would like to become involved with local activities for youths.  But don't push her into it.  If she wants to then do it.
