  1. If both gerbils are females, it should be ok. I'm sorry about your loss of a gerbil.

  2. yes you can lol lol lol

  3. try nuetral ground like bath tub with a towel on the bottom daily for a couple of days with a food bottle and yes a bowl is fine for water good luck

  4. the split cage method usually last about a week give or take a few days.  make sure that you split tank is secure.  they will try as hard as possible to get across it mainly because they are so curious. switch them on opposite sides as much as possible the more they get used to each other the better.  a good idea of when they are ready to meet with physical contact is when they begin to sleep as close as possible to each other.  when you take out the divider watch them closely for the first few days.  you know that they are ok together once you see them sleep together.  but be sure to watch for warning signs- one gerbil chases the other and the chased gerbil arches like a cat positioning his back side to the chasing gerbil.  this would be a sign that they need more split cage time.  another thing to watch for are bite wounds on a gerbils rear end.  bites on the rear indicates that he/she is the victim and if that happens split cage time should be resumed.  but overall this usually happens when people dont intoduce them properly (split cage method).

the water bowl will work untill another water bottle can be provided.  the only problem with water bowls are that they get tipped over and the bedding gets wet and they will kick bedding in the bowl but it will work.

    more split cage-

  5. Younger gerbils are, generally, easy to introduce. The split is usually left in for a week, but if you're not comfortable with lifting it after a week, just leave it in longer. A few times a day, switch the gerbils to the other side of the split. You'll want to watch for them grooming each other through the mesh, sleeping next to each other, etc. Look for positive signs. When it's time to lift the split, be sure to have thick gloves on hand just in case they decide to fight. If there's some rough grooming, a little boxing, chasing, and humping, keep a close eye on them. They may begin fighting and you'll have to separate them again. If all seems well, then you can just watch them carefully just in case they decide to fight later. It's not a good idea to leave them alone until you feel sure they've bonded.

Water bowls are not a good idea. They're unsanitary. If it's large, the gerbil could fall in, get wet, and possibly catch a cold. Bedding will be kicked in it, so your gerbil will have no water to drink. Many gerbils don't know how to drink out of a water bowl, because a water bottle is all they've known. The best thing to do is to go out and pick up a water bottle tonight or tomorrow morning. I think they sell water bottles at a lot of stores. You may find one at your local grocery store/Wal-Mart/K-Mart/Target/etc.

  6. they will be good
