Introducing new fish ?

I have a big tank and have 10 white cloud mountain minnows and really want to add angels and catfish to the tank, I have everything set up, the tanks cycled but need some help now. Someone said that if you add the fish at a young age and around the same time they will not be aggressive to each other and should get along. Is this true?

  1. Not in my experience.

Both angels and some breeds of cat fish can be aggressive, as long as your tank is big enough they should rub along together.

Make sure you do the usual acclimatising the new fish to your tank conditions.

  2. get a betta fish they are really pretty and easy to take care of

  3. it might work angelfish can be pretty aggressive sometimes

  4. The problem you are going to have is not if they get along but will they survive.  What temperature are you housing your white clouds?  These are cold water fish and angels.  White clouds don't do well in 80 degree temps.  Yes you should add your fish in groups.  HOwever adding too many fish at one time can cause your biofilter to spike due to the increased volume of waste.

A simple trick to adding new fish which can be aggressive is to add the fish with the lights out, then rearrange your decorations.  This will confuse the older tank mates into thinking they are also rehoused.  Once everyone is settled in, you can readjust your aquarium.
