  1. started in 1960s when bandaranaike started this ceylonese c**p - excluding the tamils which numbered a million.  they started depriving the tamils of their rights etc.  discrimination in jobs etc.  tamils got fedup - ask for autonomy or independent homeland - refused - civil war started.  

    the ceylonese refused to budge and both sides intensified their fight and we r now where it is at today
