Re: Accounts Assistant

I am writing to apply for the Accounts Assistant position, which I have seen advertised on your company website.

The problem with this one is i have not seen this job advertised. i saw the manager of the hotel in a nightclub and she mentioned that they are looking for a new accounts assistant. how can i put this professionally into a covering letter?

Many thanks in advance x

  1. No point in not being truthful. Many jobs are never advertised. It shows resourcefulness to follow up a lead like this. Go for it!

I met X (manager of the hotel) recently and she told me you presently have a vacancy for an Accounts Assistant. As I have many years experience in  this field, I wonder whether you would consider me for this post.  My CV .... blah blah blah.....

  2. You just need to put something like "please find enclosed a copy of my current CV as an application for the position of Accounts Assistant"  It's not really necessary to mention speaking to the hotel manager.   Good luck :)

  3. How about " I have heard that you have a vacancy etc and would like to be considered " ?  Good luck with the job hunting.

  4. What you wrote is fine. You could also say:

This is to apply for the position of Accounts Assistant posted on your web site.
