Invading space?

why do a certain number of people find it a joy to invade your space? especially when you're serious.

  1. If you mean in this forum, none of it is "your space."

    If you mean in life, it is because they do not recognize--or choose to ignore--or do not understand--what creates a person's "space." That is created by the individual sovereignty of every individual.

    It is why one of the popular means of describing this invasion of space is to say, "Your rights end where my nose begins."

    But it often begins much further away than your nose, for example the abortion protesters who are court ordered to remain a certain distance from the clinic and not to talk to the clinic's patients.

    Lately, such occurances have been the invasion of soldier's funerals by fundie Christians. Some of them, too, have been ordered further back than the noses of the mourners.
