Invalid Update Control CFT File, AVG 8.0?

Question

I am continually having problems with AVG 8.0 updates. The latest one says "Invalid Update Control CFT File, AVG 8.0"

What does this mean? How can I fix it? Does it mean I have to uninstall the AVG and reinstall it yet again?

since avg has updated to 8.0 its been having problems,delete it and change 2 avast cos thats the best free anti virus

You need to delete the CTF temp files in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Avg8\update\download....  Dont delete all the .bin files in there unless you want to re-run all updates since your original installation.  Only delete the avginfo files that end with .ctf....
