OK, so I have this friend who is a guy at work & recently he started spending most of his time text messaging. One day he left his cell phone on his desk while going on break. Another guy, to be joking around with him (though I thought it was really really rude, i don't understand some guy jokes)... picked up his phone when it rang, and read and answered a text message. It was a phone s*x text message. It was not from his girlfriend. I guess since this guy started all these these "kinky" texts... He just has been slacking off at work & is not really mentally there. He screws up a lot recently & as a friend I try to cover for him. I ask him what is wrong, he just says he's tired & stressed. he made the guy who told me about the text message say he wouldnt tell anyone... but the guy is one of my best friends, so he told me. I won't tell anyone else.

My question is would it be Ok to mention these texts to him to get him to realize that he needs to snap out of it before he gets in trouble or fired for s******g up or is that an invasion of his privacy? What should I do?

  1. It's no ones business except for the guy who owns the phone - sure you an tell him - but that will cause drama with your co-workers - it's up to you what you want to do - but yes that was very immature and rude...

  2. I agree with the first answer.  Good luck.

  3. I would not tell him you know the nature of the text messages.  I might say "I've noticed you've been texting alot during the work day.  I'd hate for you to get in trouble.  Maybe you should cool it for awhile."  Actually doing something about it is on him.
