Here's a nice way to get the ball rolling, Mail all the details of your idea including drawings and be as detailed as you can. Mail it to yourself and dont open it. This will provide some proof with a posted date and its an official document. Thats your first step. next is finding someone who can  get your financing started.

a patent requires you to disclose everything, anyone can see it so anyone can alter it slightly and repatent under a different name. incorporate the name in the US that might be safer.
