Inverarity puts faith in Haddin – Cricket News Update

The veteran gloveman became out of favour during the 2011-2012 home summer, and was replaced by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, the team
management decided to reshuffle their goals, and took a short term approach in a bid to regain the urn.
It meant that Haddin returned to the setup, along with veteran opening batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chris-Rogers-c1249, with a view to inject some experience into the side. With Shane Watson relinquishing his vice-captaincy duties in order concentrate on his own performances, Inverarity
backed Haddin to deliver the goods and form a successful partnership with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120. The NSP Head however, reaffirmed his faith in Wade, claiming that the left-hander is integral to the team’s long term plans.
"In regards to the vice-captaincy, we feel it's important to have a senior, seasoned player support Michael at this time," Inverarity said. "When http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Watson-c2558 advised of his decision to stand down, the NSP viewed Brad as the exceptional candidate to step
into this leadership void.
"Matthew Wade is a very good cricketer and remains central to our plans for the future."
Haddin’s first task will be to lead an Australian A side, which will travel ahead of the Ashes squad. The A side further includes the likes of Jackson Bird, Nathan Lyon, Ryan Harris, Peter Siddle and James Pattison, all of whom will be looking to get accustomed
to the English surroundings.
The first Ashes Test will be played at Nottingham from July 10.
