  1. InspectorBudget has no clue about VV.  Most of the categories thy use are based on Fundamentals. For example their most popular rating is VST... which stands for Value Safety & Timing. Of the 3 categories (in VST) only "timing" could be cosidered technical analysis.

VectorVest is not for short term trading.  The system is helpful (many say they rely on it 100%). I've had it for a year & for me....... it's "OK" but I'm going to cancel it.  Not because it's "bad" but because I'm a "swing trader" it's not geared to my type of trading.(I'm a swing trader that uses "Technical analysis")

VectorVest is not easy. But it is good & has plenty of great featurers for the right type of investor...... just not me.

They have a special pricing for testing the system. Check it out yourself.

  2. I tried it in January.

I like the way it ranks stocks and that it can be tailored to different strategies.

Many of the top stocks are at the top for many months.

I canceled after a few months and continue to benifit from those.

I will likely try it again  in  2010.

  3. VectorVest ranks stocks on a purely Technical Analysis point of view.

That is useful, but should be regarded only as another tool in your investment strategy.

You need to have Fundamental Analysis as well, which shows the profitability and financial health of the company.

Finally, you need to be aware that fear and greed, and speculation, and even outright criminal behavior  ( like Enron, TYCO and WorldComm )  can throw out everything you plan in a matter of minutes!
