This wasn’t the first time that this has happened, in fact a couple of times before and for any driver; this leaves him in bitter disappointment. At the Formula one Spanish Grand Prix this Sunday Lewis Hamilton had a bust tire again which left him reeling down in the table. He was leading at the 2nd place and the recent incident has left an empty space for the responsibility of the accident.

The McLaren team is instigating an investigation into the incident. With just two laps to go the world class driver sank into a tire wall unable to control his car. Initial reasoning has lead to believe that the reason for the accident happened to be a malfunction in the front left tire.

After the accident at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya Hamilton came out unscathed but dissatisfaction was apparent from him. In the end the, the World Champion of 2008 lost 18 points because of the misfortune and there was no one to blame.

Now he is 21 points apart from his team mate Jenson Button and had he finished second there would have been a difference of only 1. Currently mark Webber of the Red bull team is leading.
The head of the McLaren team Martin Whitmarsh too commented on the incident saying that it was really unfortunate for the Hamilton who drove exceedingly brilliantly.

He said, “He posted the fastest lap of the race on his way to what would have been a richly deserved second place had he not been forced to retire within spitting distance of the chequered flag.”

He also said that the parts have been sent to the McLaren Technology Centre for the report and the results will come out soon. Also that until the report no official statement can be made on the incident.

This of course wasn’t the first time he was out of luck. Earlier in his carrier (in 2007) when he was having a record season there was the incident at European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring. Not to mention just a few weeks after that at the Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul he had a busted tire that made him drop again.

Hamilton said he felt "absolutely blown away" by his latest misfortune but despite falling to sixth place in the drivers' standings, he is looking ahead to the rest of the season.

He commented on the accident saying, “This is my third or fourth tire blow-out in my career. More than most people have in their whole lifetime.”

He also said that before the crash the car felt great and he was facing no difficulties. However the optimistic guy said he is looking forward to the season despite the setback at the 11th hour. As he says, “You just have to keep your chin up and look forward.”

Now the Mclaren team is going for the Grand Prix at Monaco coming Saturday; and as they say they have had victory there no less than 15 times not to mention with a considerable margin. Hamilton will definitely be looking to make his comeback there so it would be a must see.
