Question:

Invitation wording for same locale of ceremony and reception?

My fiance and I are having our wedding at a country club that offers ceremonies and receptions. How do I indicate that on the invitation? The room for ceremony and reception is the same room...after the ceremony is over the staff will "flip" the room and make it the reception room. They'll do this while we have our receiving line and will only take them about 10 minutes. How do I let people know the reception is at the same place? Thanks!

  1. Reception to follow -- invitation parlance for "The reception is in the same place." Just make sure your ushers know where to direct guests after the ceremony (and have your reception or cocktail music beckoning from inside), so everyone takes the most convenient route to the reception room.

  2. We did that. The invitations read:

    xxxxxxxxxxxx & xxxxxxxxxxx

    would be honoured if

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

would join them to witness and celebrate their marriage

    on

    xxxxxxxx

    at

    xxxxxxxxxxx

  3. Simply put "Reception to follow" under the information about the ceremony. Your guests will get it.

  4. we are doing the same thing... what we did was put the typical invite wording and the address of the location and then just at the bottom we put reception to follow since there is no other address people should get the hint
