Invited to a black tie event with a large law firm, should I let my tattooed fairy on my back attend as well?

Honestly I do not care what others think but........I am a classy lady so I would like to dress appropriately. Please let me know what you think.

These days, a tattoo is no big deal.  Sure, show it off--just make sure your dress is appropriate (not too explicit, not too sleezy) for the conservative atmosphere of law firms.  Many years ago I had a coworkers who got her whole back tattooed, wore a red backless dress to the Christmas party and was a huge hit--but she acted like a lady throughout.  People were impressed because you'd never know she had that big tattoo otherwise.

Cover Up-that's what I'd do-

I don't mind tattoos myself but you never know-and you don't want to be known as the tattoo lady? it's always better to err on the side of caution-

If the tattoo is well done and not very far down your back (mid-shoulder blades or higher)... yes. If it is very VERY low (past mid-shoulder blades or lower)... no! If it is a crude piece of work...NO! This is all you need to go by.
