Inviting a friend to a wedding, I want to get her a thank-you gift for coming last minute, what do I get?

I asked her last minute, and now she has to get a dress and give up a weekend to help me out because my date canceled last minute... I know for prom you would buy a corsage... is there anything like that that a girl would wear to a wedding?

No, don't get a corsage or anything to wear - it's not like prom. But you could send flowers to her home or office with a sincere thank you card, and maybe take her to lunch/dinner.

I would really hesitate to buy her flowers to wear, especially if she is not in the wedding party. Either give her a lovely bouquet for her home or tell her you'll take her out for a night on the town.

You are very kind.  If she's your friend, she doesn't mind doing it.  By the way, she doesn't have to get a dress for a wedding.  I'm sure she has something to wear already.  Also, she's probably not giving up any plans.  If she had big plans, she would have said no.  Bring her a mixed Bouquet of flowers and a thank you.  I hope you all have fun!

If SHE likes flowers, get her flowers (I think a mixed bouquet would do well). Do NOT get her a corsage to go to the wedding.  Flowers are worn by wedding party and close family only.  

If it were me, I'd prefer a potted plant/flower over a bouquet of cut flowers anyday.  A gift that keeps on giving.

Or get her a gift card to something she likes.  Starbucks, Target, a favorite restaurant... something where she can choose.

Buy her a wrist corsage that she can wear.  Anything more than that would seem like you are up to something.  Thank her 2 or 3 times for coming with you, tell her she looks pretty, and be a gentleman- open doors, get her drinks, dance with her.   Going on a date with a nice man is a pleasure, not a chore- and it sounds like you will make sure she has a good time.

the yellow roses are nice, or perhaps a pretty necklace (not diamonds or anything - a simple pendant would be nice) or maybe a bracelet.
