Iowa Hawkeyes’ Adam Robinson expected to play in week 11
Iowa Hawkeyes head coach Kirk Ferentz announced that starting running back Adam Robinson is ready to play in the Hawkeyes' week 11 game on Saturday 13 November.
Robinson was forced out in a game against the Michigan State Spartans on 30 October and missed the club’s week 10 game against the Indiana Hoosiers on 6 November with an undisclosed injury. However, reports indicate that Robinson was suffering from a concussion
at the time.
The Hawkeyes head coach said that Robinson went through his regular work out on 7 November and felt fine and then completed his usual practice routine on Monday 8 November and still did not have any symptoms.
Robinson has been an integral part of a strong Iowa rushing game, ranking third in Big Ten in rushing this season, averaging 100.8 yards per game.
Freshman Marcus Coker replaced Robinson in the club’s week 10 win over the Hoosiers, running for 129 yards, averaging 5.9 yards per carry.
The Hawkeyes have put together a strong 2010 campaign. The squad sits at 7-2 with a 4-1 record against Big Ten opponents, which is good enough for second in the conference.
Iowa has three games remaining on the season, all of which are against conference opponents, giving them a real opportunity to take over the top spot in the Big Ten before the end of the season. The Hawkeyes will meet a 6-3 Northwestern Side in week eleven,
then take on the nation’s number nine club, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and end with an easy game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
If the Hawkeyes hope to take over top spot in the Big Ten they will need to go undefeated the rest of the way and have the Spartans lose one of their final two games.
So far this season Robinson has run for 806 yards and 10 touchdowns.
