Iphone 3g help? Frozen startup screen?

My iphone 3g freezes on the startup screen and i cant get itunes to pick it up, what do i do. please im desperate

  1. IF this is an unaltered (no jailbroken) iPhone 3g simply hold the home key and power key until the message appears then remove the power key but hold the home until you have connected to the itunes it will force a reset and restore.

    if you have tried to jailbreak the phone then this is one of the issues with hacking the boot code it can kill the phone. try the above to restore without the jailbreak hack.


  2. i had the same problem last week with my ipod touch

    you have to reset it, first plug it into your computer with itunes open

    hold down the home button and sleep/hold button,

    after about 5 seconds the screen should go blank, keep holding it until you see the apple logo and then the picture of the connector cable pointing towards the itunes logo, after the there should be a window open that says that it detects an apple devise in recovery mode and that you need to restore it do that and then, well it will be empty, but it will work

  3. Hiya Angus! This is a common occurence with most handsets! It happens often with my N95/8gig device! Remedy is to take the battery and sim card out,and put them back in again and switch it back on!
