Iphone and outlook 2007

Question

Can someone tell me how to sync my iphone so that the names all start by their first names? Ive tried mucking about with the 'fields' bit on outlook but the list of contacts is still scrambled and not in alphabetical order. Have I input the contacts in wrong? I always put under the name section the first name of the person?

In Outlook, go to:

Tools>email accounts>view or change existing directories or address books>click 'next'>click the 'change' button>Under 'show names by' switch to format you prefer.  Restart Outlook to activate the change.

Other things to check:  default contact entry is in the full name field is 'first, middle, last.'  If you enter the name as 'last, first' or you change this setting and are not consistent with the way you enter names, it may confuse Outlook and not synch to your iPhone the way you want it to.

you can try on the ipod under the box for "settings"

Mail, contacts,Calendars  >

there is a n option to change the sort order of contact most use Sort: Last, First then Display First, Last

also check in outlook that you have got Title and first name swapped round (i had that happen).

if they display and search properly in Outlook then it should work properly in the Contacts Tab.
