Is there a car head unit about that you can directly connect your ipod to, I mean no lead hanging out etc?

  1. You mean a car deck with an iPod dock connector built onto the faceplate?  Not that I know of.

    Head units that are "iPod ready" usually let you display and control the iPod through the radio controls, so you don't have to keep your iPod out in the open.  I commonly install iPod cables so that they run from the back of the deck to the glove box, or into the console storage compartment.  That way there are no leads hanging from the dash, and your iPod is kept safely out of the way and out of sight.


  2. ive got a sony one.  its cool.  bout 150 euros so about £35!  in argos.

    you also get a remote(!)  presumably so the passengers can mess with your levels.  and it has an output for the sub too.  this is an ipod connection not just a line in. its boss.
