Ipod FM transmitter static

Question

I have used these things you plug into the AC adapter before and it's always the same. Static. Annoying static. So I got an expensive one because surely a high quality one would not have any problems. Wrong. I put it on the normal station for those things and it's as bad as ever.

What can I do to make the sound more clear?

I'm sorry to say it but there will always be static. I don't know anyone that uses an FM transmitter and does not have that problem.

They tell you to not only pick an open frequency to transmit to, but pick one that also has open frequencies above and below it. This will give you the least static, but it will never be perfect.

I have also found that if you set the transmitter to .1 above or below what the radio is set to it may clear up a little. (example: transmitter set to 89.8 and radio set to 89.7)

Like the other gentleman stated, it's almost impossible to prevent some form of static when using an FM transmitter. There are other alternatives out there though. If you have a factory radio, you can look into a product called iSimple which plugs into the factory radio, and then gives you a cable to plug into the iPod. If the static is that unbearable, and iSimple isn't available for your vehicle, then the next alternative is going with an aftermarket radio with iPod functionality.
