  1. Did you try to restart it? To do that just turn the hold button on and off, then hold the menu and the center button at the same time. Then it should restart.

  2. Hi

    Check the Hold Button

The first, and most basic of all, is to make sure that you don't have the Hold function on your iPod engaged. This locks your iPod buttons to stop them from being accidentally pushed.

Physically slide the hold button backward and forward and check to see if your iPod is now unfrozen.

    Reset Your iPod

Resetting an iPod is the equivalent of re-booting a computer. A reset should unfreeze your iPod and get it back to normal without the need for iPod data recovery software.

To reset your iPod press "Menu" and "Select" (the center button) at the same time and hold them down for at least 6 seconds. You should see the Apple logo appear and then the normal iPod menu display.

If you reset your iPod and the contents of your iPod are intact, you can continue to use the iPod normally, including auto-syncing with iTunes if desired.

Hope I helped! And I hope it worked!

  3. Is your "Hold" button on? Make sure it's off.

Try holding the center button and the "up" part of the clickwheel down for a few seconds. This will reset it (your songs will still be there).

If that doesn't work, try restoring the software via iTunes. You will wipe out your music, but you can always reload it from your hard drive.

If it's still under warranty, Call AppleCare.

A last option that works (but is controversial) is to drop or smack your iPod against something. Mine (4th gen. clickwheel) started coming up with the "sad iPod" icon last Thursday. I read about this fix online and tried it. I dropped my iPod onto a cardboard box from about three feet up. It actually worked! My iPod works fine now.

  4. Check the Hold Button afterward go maili t to the company as thay are prettyreliable.

  5. make sure the switch on top is off and the bright red dot is not showing  thats a lock.  That would keep it from doing anything at all if you put in in the on position while your ipod was off

  6. takeit to wear bought it. I think you can also go and mail it to the company too. they're pretty reliable
