Ipod Help PLEASE????????

My ipod wont connect to my computer,it wont even show up..on my desktop or my laptop.When i plug it into the USB port it usually says something,and now its not on either computers.i THINK the problem has to be with the ipod or USB cable thing...PLEASE i need help now.I HAVE ALREADY TRIED RESETTING IT.

Well first you should try a different connection cord, and if it still doesnt show up try a different operating system (example ur on XP try OS X, this can sometimes be helpful). If the problem doesnt lie with the cord and noo computer can read it your going to have to send it to apple. Do you still have a warranty? Meaning is ur ipod less than a year old?

um i think the problem might be with th eusb cord it could be broken u should send infor a new ipod and a new cord just in case im not positively sure that the problem is only in the usb cord but the same thing happened with my video camera.
