Ipod/Itunes Question?

I have my PC with itunes and I'm about to buy a laptop, whats the easiest way to go about putting my music from my PC to the laptop,

Is the easiest way just simply backing up itunes?

If you have a large external hard drive, or even a large USB stick you could just copy onto that, then put that on your laptop.

I suppose it depends on how much music you have and how much memory it takes up. If you have tens of gigabytes worth of music the easiest way would be to use an external harddrive.

     Personally I use Re-writable DVD's (DVD-RW or DVD+RW) as they hold 4.7gb worth of memory and can be used time and time again.

     Even easier would be to buy a USB Flash Drive. You can buy an 8gb flash drive off Amazon for as cheap as £12-13, brand new.

just copy the entire contents of your 'My Documents/My Music/Itunes' folder over to the laptop and install itunes on it and make sure its in the same place in your user account.

you will need to DEAUTHORISE the orginal machine from the itunes store if selling it (via the store menu in itunes) and AUTHORISE the Laptop. then login to the itunes store and just select the consolidate library from the advanced menu that will fix any file location issues.

Remember that itunes is the master player and file location NEVER rely on your ipod to bakup as its only the slave music player to the itunes.

Final step is to plug in your ipod and PAIR it to your new laptop and it will re-install all the apps, games and music from the laptop.

Always BACKUP your itunes folder after every purchase or CD import as thats your music collection not whats on itunes store or the ipod.

just buy a USB stick thats 2GB for like $10 then drag all your music onto it, put it in the laptop then drag it our onto the laptop.
