Ipod Touch -> Bad or good buy ?

Question

I want one for christmas.. but i want more details on it. I do have an ipod nano ( 2nd generation) but it doesnt hold enough memory for me.. (2g) but ive heard that if i am getting a new ipod i should get something like the ipod video/ ipod touch.. what are your thoughts? any links that might help ?

Well i have 2 friends with an ipod touch and they both tell me how great they are and that i should get 1 and stuff. (i have an ipod nano 2) I mean it seems like the ipod touch can do like anything. I mean u can get internet connection, watch movies, play games, draw, write notes, an obviously listen 2 music on it. I'm actually thinking about getting one cause by what i've seen. I mean i was with my friend on a 5 hour car ride and all we did was play around with her iopd touch so yea. I think its pretty great. I mean the ipod video can only watch videos and play music. The ipod touch can do both and more stuff.

There's a great case called incase, get that along with the Touch, if you ever decide on buying it. It'll protect the thing from breaking, including the screen.

ipod touch is good it does not just play music it has games, videos, internet (wireless), diary, etc. It is like the iphone but it can't make calls. ipod touch would be better than ipod video as it can play videos as well as lots of other things.

I personally owns an ipod video (30 gigs) and im still happy with it. I can put EVERYTHING I WANT in it, and i currently have about 15 movies and over 3000 songs. not to mention pictures and games. and i still have more space (like 8 gigs left) for new music and stuff.

My mom owns an iphone, which is pretty much the same with ipod touch which my friend owns. I personally dont like ipod touch because its basically an iphone without the ability to use it as a phone. With the same price you can get an iPhone or ipod video with bigger gigs. So if its me I'd just get iphone. besides, ipod touch is just so big. its not really 'handy'. But then again, if you cant get an iphone- ipod touch is okay so go for it but consider what I mention above...

probably the best thing that happened to me. It loses battery fast though. But it is pretty cool i am answering this question from the itouch now.

Let's see here, a device that has Touchscreen, accelerometer that could detect how you're placing it, Wifi functionalities, Google Maps, Weather, Stocks, Mail, an in-built application market that has the strictest screening process known to man with totally awesome apps, IM, Push technology isn't a good buy? You're kidding me right!

Oh, and there's this thing called "Jailbreak" which Apple.Inc doesn't support but I do!

Basically, it modifies the iPod touch to allow the installation of third party applications. There are some awesome stuff from jailbreak such as GBA/NES/GBC emulators, Quake, theming, Download online videos and songs, P2P filesharing applications...a whole lot more!

So in conclusion, yeah, it is a pretty good buy. I've been having an iTouch since last December I think and trust me, its awesome! Oh, and I don't see how it "breaks easily" because the normal functions of an iPod or any other MP4 player in fact involves smashing it against the wall when you're in a bad mood.

One more thing, I don't recommend buying one now because a new one is coming out in September and its rumored to have lots of new features so just wait for a bit and you won't regret it!
