Ipod Trouble. Help!! whoever fixs this gets 10 points.

ok well i have the ipod nano [the square one] and i was downloading a song onto it and it said connected eject before disconnecting on the ipod and i accidentally pulled the wire so it came out so its frozen on that screen and nothings happening so how do i fix this> without erasing any data? HELP please please please. 10 pints to whoever helps me fix this PLEASE HELP

reset the ipod, it won't erase anything i promise

flip the hold switch on and off. hold the menu and select button down and it will restart
