  1. try click the arrow on the top bar (organise, views, system properties, uninstall or change a program, map network drive, >>) to open the (file, edit, view, tools, help) bar. otherwise try right clicking around the top area to open up that bar.

  2. Okay, you could do it that way, but since you have an old iPod, iTunes has probably changed all the names of the mp3 files so that it becomes a time-consuming task to identify which mp3 is which.

Alternatively, you could use a free software like iDump (http://www.download.com/iDump/3000-2169_... to transfer all your music files onto your computer.

If you seriously want to show the hidden files, which version of Windows are you using? Or are you using a Mac?

If you're using Windows Vista, when you've double clicked into your iPod, there should be a button that says "Organise" at the top left. Click it and go down to "Folder and Search Options". Then go to the "View" tab, scroll down to "Hidden Files and Folders", and click "Show hidden files and folders." Click OK, and you should be able to see the music files inside one of the hidden folders on the iPod.

If you're using XP, from memory, there should be a tab that says "Tools" at the top. Go down to "Folder Options," and follow the same instructions.

Hope it works out! Let us know how it goes!
