Ipod help- formating difficulties...???

I bought a new laptop and i need to figure out how to reformat it from widnows to mac. would setting it back to factory settings do the trick?

please dont post with the spam about getting a free ipod.

i'm really just looking to solve the problem with the one i have.

  1. Connect your iPod to your Mac, and then it should show on the iPod screen in iTunes that "This ipod is formatted with windows, only Macintosh-formatted iPods can be updated" or something along the lines of that, and then click the Restore button in iTunes.


  2. I believe you plug it into your mac and a box should pop up asking you to format it. If that isn't the case then setting it back to factory defaults should do the trick. It will erase the music off your ipod i believe but i can't be sure. Its probably best you go to www.apple.com and email a support representative about your question and wait for a response before you do anything. good luck :)
