Firstly i must say that i know very little about computers, so sorry if i leave out any critical info.
Going travelling with my girlfriend and i wanted to store my tunes on computer, giving me a back up, incase i lose my ipod abroad. Brother in law somehow downloaded all my tunes onto his computer, creating a file which i know is stored on his pc. Returning home i was listening to ipod and everything seemed fine. That night went onto itunes with pod plugged in to download new tunes. First a logo of a black half filled battery, with black lightening bolt appeared on my pod. Next message came up on computer saying, ipod in recovery mode please restore? Then on unplugging ipod it says on ipod screen in various landuages, please restore ipod using itunes. My pod no longer works and itunes is not recognising it! Since i have not stored all my tunes in itunes library i am apprehensive to restore as i know i will lose all my music. My brother in law still has the file of my tunes on his computer. If i do restore my pod is there any way i can get all my music back onto pod from that file? Why did this problem happen in the first place? In future should i just drag my tunes to itunes library to act as a backup, which means i could restore ipod with no worries of losing my music?
Thankyou for taking the time to ponder this one and i look forward to hearing from you as we leave the country in four days and would like to not be tune less!?
Best wishes
