Ipod nano second generation water damage...?

My Ipod just today got washed up in the washing machine. Would a warranty cover that? Please help!

im not sure if a warranty covers it

apparently if you bury it in a bag of dry rice and leave it there for a day or two, it will take all the moisture out and will have a chance of working again..

but i have no idea if this is true..my friend claims that it worked for his ipod
