Ipod problem?PLEASE HELP ME!!

Question

My friend just gave me an ipod but when I hook it up to my computer it doesnt show the songs that are already on the ipod? So i added a new folder with new music but still it doesnt show up on my ipod. Do i need a special software for my ipod to delete the songs that it came with and add my own?

you need itunes then you can listen and sort them out

When you "sync" the iPod with your computer, it should delete all the songs on the iPod and replace them with your own. If you want to transfer the music from the iPod to your computer, you can do so with a program (usually not free), such as Senuti. You could probably find something like that for free on either Limewire or BitTorrent, though.
