Ipod question...PLEASE HELP!?

Question

I have an ipod touch and a mac computer (if that matters). I plugged my ipod into my computer to download some new songs, and the computer would not sense that my ipod was plugged in. I tried a different cord and it didn't work, then I plugged in a different ipod to see if it was the computer or the ipod....and it worked with that ipod. So I think the problem is my ipod...my question is, what do you think is wrong?
