Ipod shuffle 500 songs?

Question

ok, so i have an ipod shuffle, its 1gb ( im pretty sure) and its suppose to hold 500 songs right?

well i only have 258 songs, why is it saying that my ipod is full?

A 1GB player is only supposed to hold 250 songs per Apple.

cause 500 songs are average about like 2 minutes you probably have alot of songs that are alot longer of that
