Ipod touch, can someone help me out over here

So I was thinking of getting an Ipod touch, can anyone answer the following who has had one?

*If you don't use WiFi do you have to buy internet connection and if so how do you buy it and how much is it :/

* Aim, Can it be used on the ipod touch 8gb or do you need the 16gb ipod touch?

you can only use wifi on iPod touch. Aim will work on iPod touch 8gb.
