Ipod touch and i tunes 7.7 help!!!?

ok so i really want to buy an ipod touch but to download itunes 7.7, my computer needs minimum 256mb ram but i have 224mb...so i am thinking of buying more ram but can i go over 256mb because for the additional video requirements, it says i need 512mb and 2.0 ghz...do i really need additional video requirements if i am not going to download videos on itunes? So ya im really confused because i dont wana buy ram and then itunes 7.7 still doesnt work...BTW the sticker thing on the computers hard drive says 256mb of ram (which is what it started with probably) and it is 2200 amd athelon ddr sd ram memory if that helps. So please provide good answers because i really dont know what to do!!

well the 256 mb on the comp is not all for storade....but i would go withbuying extra ram ...and asfor the video requirements no you dont really need them
