Ipod touch // i tunes help ?

i installed the new itunes update, & its not identifying my ipod touch, i plug my ipod touch in &nd its charging , but itunes doesn't pop up like it usually does, this message comes up : " This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install iTunes again " i did what the message says & it still isn't identifying my ipod, HELP ?

  1. try restoring your ipod software.

    it will erase everything but it could work.


  2. Yikes, "Not recognized by iTunes" is really a long call. There is a lot of things you can do. Reset, restore (hard to do when not recognized), reinstall USB drivers, change drive letter, restart apple mobile device service, try a new user account/computer, try a different USB port, use Windows Disk Utility to format, uninstall Apple Mobile Device support/apple software update/quicktime/ itunes then reinstall.
