Ipod touch is messed up>?

i have recently noticed my ipod touch's rewind or previous botton does not work. is it that i need to clean my screen or that i need to return it>?

probably restart it (by holding down the off/on button and middle button for 10 sec or until the apple logo pops up) By restarting it,it WILL NOT delete any information.

If that doesnt work, bring it to an Apple store
