Ipod touch problem !!!!!!!!!?

Question

okay so i was charging my ipod touch and it was updating and then it say it couldn't do it because of an error . And now when i turn on my ipod it just shows a picture of the charger cable with an arrow pointing to it tunes or some cd and a musical note like itunes . And every time i try to charge my ipod it doesn't connect it , it doesn't go .

What do i do , it is going to stay like that.

Can you please tell me step by step what to do.

i download cydia to my ipod touch 2g and when i turn it of and turn it on the pic of the charger cable and the itune cd comes out and it won't let me hear my music or nothing it stay like that
