Ipod touch restore help?

hey there i was trying to downgrade my ipod to 1.1.4 from an internet source but then it like turned off and now it wont turn on it just takes ages to get to a point were it just shows the "plug into itunes" sign and then i cant do anything from there, ive tried rebooting it in recovery mode by holding home and power down ande then when the turn of slider pops up i release powere but continue to hold home until it turns off and then i release home and plug it in but then once again the "plug into itunes" sign pops up.

  2. I think you've got the method of putting into Recovery wrong, it should be like this but I might have misunderstood you so no offense or hard feelings if I got you wrong...

    1.On your iPod and plug it in to iTunes, doesn't matter if iTunes recognise it

    2.Make sure you're on the homescreen so as to avoid any mistake

    3.Now, hold the home button and power button together at once.

    4.Continue holding it even if the "slide to off" thing pops up

    5.After holding for a while, your iPod should have turned off and the screen should be black

    6.Now continue holding those two buttons until he Apple Logo that appears when you on your iPod shows up. At this point, release the power button but continue to hold the home button.

    7.Hold the home button for a while, after a while, the USB and iTunes logo should show up and you can now restore it.

    I think you went wrong at the "slide to off" part but I might be wrong. Check out Youtube, it has some great demostrations.
