Ok,

I have a 4GB, First Generation, Black (no offense intended) ipod that I got refurbshed. There is a problem though when I want to charge it. It won't charge. I use the USB device and my PC (a Dell 2006 Home Edition) says that it won't recognize it and all this jumbo wumbo.

Anyone know what to do?

  1. dis happend to me before lol

i know this may sound silly but try putting the usb in other way around so dat the apple picture is at the bottom

    that worked for me lol

  2. well maybe when you were charging it once you didnt eject it and pulled it out and now it wont work

  3. you will need a ""USB iPod Charger "", i had the same problem as you,so i tried smething else..i bought a charger and it works.

  4. okay that happened to me with my ipod mini

and when the computer charging doesnt work,

its time to get speakers or an iHome.

i got an iHome and it charges really well & fast; i leave it in there and its battery life is amazing.. ive had my ipod mini for 3 years now

iHome supports all ipods except maybe the Touch & works really well

if you dont want the iHome, then you can get portable or plug-in ipod speakers that charge your ipod

works much better than computer =]
