Ipod trouble II PLEASE HELP

okay so now my ipod is charging without itunes opening up... when i do open itunes it doesn't show that my ipod is in the "devices" category and it won't sync... i tried resetting it and that didn't help... what do i do

restart ur computer

dont restore ur ipod cuz it

will delete all ur songs,
