Ipod wont let me add music?!?

Question

Im on my third iPod nano, from a warrenty, and when i plug it in,

i go to drag and drop music from my computer into my ipod...

but it wont let me drop (yes my ipod IS connected)

it just has that little circle with a slash through it

Ive been an ipod user for 3 yars so i know this isnt normal

Umm. Did you go to your settings and select manually manage music and then hit apply? I think iPods are set to where you have to sync your iTunes library with it when they're out of the box. I have also had to replace my iPod twice with the warranty and that happened to me one time too. I realized it wasn't set to manually manage the music and then it was fine.
