Ipods to India?

Hi,

One of my friend is going to India from US and wants to carry 4 ipods+Laptop(personal)+digital camera.

Please let me know if there would be any issue in the customs in india(Chennai).

Please share your experience.

As far as I know, the Chennai customs officers concentrate on laptops and digital cameras. As your friend is going to carry only 1 digital camera and laptop, there not be any problem in carrying the 4 iPods, the laptop and the camera.

However, my advice would be to distibute the iPods in different baggages instead of keeping all of them in one baggage.

Also, be careful about check-in baggage. One of my friends lost his new laptop which he kept in an unlocked check-in baggage. When he opened his bag after he received from the baggage clain, he found the laptop missing. Theft is likely to happen when transferring baggages from the aircraft to the airport
